And so we dance....

This blog is a scratch pad of sorts for my new book - And David Danced - which is a collection of scriptures that have helped me to dance over the troubles of the day.

There is more to just dancing through scriptures, however. When David danced before the Lord he did so in a loincloth ...

"Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod." (2 Samuel 6:14)

For me this said volumes - David had no care for what he was wearing, because he was overjoyed in the Lord, and so he simply danced.

"Now as the ark of the LORD came into the City of David, Michal, Saul's daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart." (2 Samuel 6:16)

Now Michal contended with David over his behavior, which she saw as inglorious and despicable. And to this David replied ...

"It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor." (2 Samuel 6:21-22)

So here we have the reason why David danced: humility. In the Christian life humility is not only a belittling of ourselves before God but also a form or respect. By not caring what people thought David lowered himself and raised God up by dancing to Him.

It is my hope and prayer that by creating this blog and sharing what God has shown me in my own walk that others will be encouraged and uplifted in their own.

And so, praise God, let's dance ...
